Beginner's guide

From the first step on the island to the path at level 150, in a few lines.

  1. The island

Every character is born a Neophytos on Ephebeia, a small island, with no vocation. Talk to the Mantis in the temple: he gives you your first errand.

  2. The first levels

The errands of the Mantis and of Emporos teach the basics: talk, fight, loot, eat, buy and drink a potion, cast a spell, dig, and climb with a rope. Your first prey is the Karkinos. The errands pay in coin and items, never in experience, so hunt on the island until level 10.

  3. The crossing

At level 10, find Kybernetes at the pier on the north end of the island. For 50 coins he sails you to Delos. There is no boat back, so settle everything on the island before you go.

  4. The vocation rite

On Delos, talk to the Pythia in the temple. She tells you what each vocation does, and you choose one, for good. Then Nautes sails you to Korinthos for free, and its temple becomes your home.

  5. The path at level 150

At level 150, the Mantis in Asphodelos's temple, on Leuke, sets you three labours. Finish them and you choose one of the two paths of your vocation.

  6. The auto hunt

The auto-hunt switch sits under the minimap. Turned on, your character finds and fights creatures nearby, eats, heals and loots by the rules you set. It only runs while the page is open: close the page and the hunt stops.

  7. Speaking to people nearby

The System tab in the chat shows the game's messages and what people near you say. Type on the System tab to speak out loud: people near you read it in the chat and over your head.

  8. Death and blessings

Dying costs part of your experience and skills, and your body stays where it fell with part of what you carried. In the temple you can ask the gods for blessings: each one cuts what the next death takes by 16%.
